Winter Storm Warning Issued for Missoula and Bitterroot Valley

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for the Missoula and Bitterroot Valley area, effective from February 17 at 1:35 PM MST until February 18 at 9:00 AM MST.
The warning indicates heavy snow is expected, with additional accumulations ranging from 2 to 6 inches. There is a likelihood of developing major impacts from heavy snow rates and a flash freeze of surfaces.
Travel conditions are anticipated to become hazardous, with considerable disruptions to normal activities. The NWS advises avoiding travel in impacted areas if possible, as conditions could lead to dangerous or impossible traveling situations.
The hazardous weather is expected to particularly affect the Monday evening and Tuesday morning commutes, especially over higher passes.
