ProLife Bitterroot has announced the opening of a new pregnancy resource center, Bitterroot Mommy & Me, which aims to provide support, education, and essential services to mothers and babies in Montana’s Bitterroot Valley. The center, temporarily located at Bitterroot House of Israel Fellowship in Corvallis, is designed to be a safe and compassionate environment for pregnant women and new mothers seeking assistance and supplies.
Since the closure of Birthright in 2021, a significant gap in local services has been noted, particularly in rural regions of the Valley. The new center seeks to help families make informed choices about their pregnancies and offer necessary support through its complimentary services. Current offerings from Bitterroot Mommy & Me include maternity and baby items, as well as post-abortive healing services. The center has partnered with EveryLife to provide high-quality diapers and wipes for local families.
Future services are in the works, including pregnancy and STD testing, pre/post-natal care, lactation consulting and classes, and ultrasound services. Robin Sertell, Chair of Montanans for Life & ProLife Bitterroot, highlighted the need for such services by referencing posts from local mothers in need on Facebook since the closure of Birthright. “Since Birthright closed in December of 2021, I’ve noticed moms on local Facebook groups saying things like, ‘I’m pregnant, and don’t have the things I need. I can’t get up to Missoula…I guess I’ve got some hard choices to make.’ Bitterroot Mommy & Me is here to fulfill those needs,” Sertell stated.

The center will be open from 3-6 PM every Monday on a drop-in basis, with services provided free of charge. As needs arise, additional days and hours of operation will be considered. A Grand Opening event is scheduled for Monday, March 3, at 3:00 PM at the Bitterroot House of Israel Fellowship, located at 1186 Eastside Hwy., Corvallis, MT. This event will feature light refreshments and an opportunity to meet the center’s dedicated team.
Bitterroot Mommy & Me represents a collaborative effort involving various churches and volunteers in the community. Those interested in supporting the center can contribute in several ways: a donation of $49.99 can provide a month’s worth of diapers and wipes, or individuals can offer their assistance through volunteer opportunities. More information regarding donations and volunteer opportunities can be found on the ProLife Bitterroot website.
