Winter Weather Advisory for Flathead County

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Flathead County, effective from 11 PM Saturday until 8 AM Sunday. Freezing rain is expected, resulting in total ice accumulations of a glaze to up to one tenth of an inch on ground surfaces. The advisory covers various areas including Highway 2 from Kalispell to Libby, Flathead Lake, and others.
Travel conditions are anticipated to be severely impacted, especially on secondary, gravel, and dirt roadways, due to icy conditions. Cold ground temperatures will facilitate rain freezing upon contact. While there may be ice on ground surfaces, elevated surfaces are not expected to experience widespread ice accumulations.
