HAMILTON, Mont. – Ravalli County has announced that its Motor Vehicles Department will be temporarily closed from March 12 at 1:00 PM through March 17 at 8:15 AM due to a software upgrade. During this period, the office will not process any title work or personalized plate orders, Ravalli County Treasurer Dan Whitesitt said.
The upgrade is part of a statewide initiative by the Montana Motor Vehicle Division to enhance vehicle services through the new Credentialing and Registration System (CARS). All offices hosting Motor Vehicles Division services statewide will refresh their systems to offer improved online services and electronic payment options.
Residents needing vehicle transactions are advised to address their needs before the closure or to wait until after March 17. While motor vehicle services are suspended, the office will still be available for property taxes inquiries and other non-motor vehicle related matters.
