Winter Weather Advisory for Silverbow County

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Silverbow County. Snow is expected, with a greater than 60 percent likelihood of minor impacts and a 30 percent chance for moderate impacts. Total snow accumulations are projected to be between 2 and 4 inches for lower elevations and 5 to 10 inches on the passes, with snowfall rates possibly reaching up to 1 inch per hour, particularly during heavier showers this evening through Tuesday.
Where: MacDonald Pass, Butte, Georgetown Lake, Homestake Pass, and Highway 12 from Garrison to Elliston.
When: The advisory is in effect from 6 PM this evening until midnight on Tuesday.
Impacts: Expect winter traveling conditions. Minor impacts may cause a few inconveniences to normal activities; drivers should use caution. Hazardous conditions could affect the Tuesday morning and evening commutes, particularly over higher passes. Moderate impacts might result in disruptions to normal activities and hazardous travel conditions with a potential for localized road closures.
