From April 8 to April 14, Missoula County has opened grant applications for projects aimed at substance abuse prevention and community support through the Substance Abuse Prevention Mill Levy and the Community Assistance Fund. These applications, accessible to government and non-profit organizations, remain open until May 9. The grants support local efforts in public health and human services for the fiscal year running July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2026.
In addition, Missoula County is offering engineered construction plans for several types of buildings, including storage units, garages, and pole barns. The county said they are releasing the pre-engineered plans to simplify the construction process for county residents, ensuring compliance with safety standards and local regulations. Before permit submission, residents must review plans with both the Planning, Development and Sustainability department and Missoula Public Health.
Other county activities include a public meeting by the Missoula County commissioners scheduled for Thursday, April 10. The meeting agenda covers various topics from proclamations recognizing National Public Safety Telecommunications Week to Earth Day and includes a public hearing concerning a ‘no parking’ ordinance on 40th Avenue in Orchard Homes.
