Montana Department of Commerce Opens Applications for Rural Planning Grants
Grants aim to boost strategic economic planning in rural Montana communities

HELENA, Mont. – The Montana Department of Commerce has announced the opening of applications for its Opportunities in Rural Economies Planning Grant Program, aimed at fostering economic growth in rural areas. According to the Department, this matching grant funding will support planning projects that are vital for the strategic development of Montana’s rural economies.
Acting Director Mandy Rambo emphasized the importance of these grants in bolstering economic development. “Strategic economic development planning is crucial for achieving growth and prosperity in Montana’s economy,” said Rambo. The program is designed to help create a vision and promote innovation across the state’s businesses.
Eligible applicants have until May 2, 2025, to submit their applications. Detailed information about the grant’s eligibility requirements and application process can be found on the ORE Planning Grant Application page or through Commerce’s website at commerce.mt.gov.
