If the Bible Doesn’t Motivate You to Take a Stand, Maybe Satan Will?

As the late, great Keith Green said, “the church just can’t fight ’cause it’s asleep in the light.” As a born-again, Sprit-filled, ordained Christian pastor, my stomach turns when I read headlines such as “Satanic Temple Opens Abortion Clinic in Maine, Tells Women to Do Evil Chants Celebrating Killing Babies.” For decades, the church as a whole has sidestepped the abortion issue. Scripture is clear on the matter—from the Ten Commandments giving us the most basic, “you shall not murder” in Exodus 20:13 to several examples of God abhorring child sacrifice, such as in Leviticus 18:21, “Do not permit any of your children to be offered as a sacrifice to Molech, for you must not bring shame on the name of your God. I am the LORD.” 

Abortion is modern-day child sacrifice, plain and simple. If the Bible doesn’t motivate you to take a firm stance on the issue, maybe the Church of Satan will. You read that correctly—The Satanic Church has been bold in their stance on the issue.  What say you, dear Christian? Will you continue to soft-peddle the issue, or will you “choose this day whom you will serve?” as Joshua was commanded in Joshua 24:15?

By and large, the church hasn’t fought this. We have been asleep in the light, and that light is growing more and more dim. Why? Due to our own callous neglect of some of the most important issues, such as the sanctity of human life! We now live in a country that has not one, not two, but three Satanic abortion mills! This “clinic” in Maine that I referred to earlier is the third, following the abortion facilities The Satanic Temple, or “TST”, as they like to be called, already operates in New Mexico and Virginia. TST sued the state of Indiana to open one there as well, and thankfully lost. However, they’re openly lobbying for access to your children in public schools.  According to their website, “Missouri lawmakers are moving forward with legislation that would allow public schools to employ or accept volunteer religious chaplains, a move that raises constitutional concerns and paves the way for The Satanic Temple’s Ministers of Satan to serve in public schools.”  

Look out, Mom and Dad, the devil’s openly and aggressively coming for your kids—dead or alive.  While this article may seem a little “preachy” for the newspaper, my aim is to make you aware of the fact that there is a legally organized entity that calls itself The Satanic Temple, with a full lobbying arm that is aimed squarely at destroying American children. While many of you reading this may not even attend a church regularly, I doubt you’d want to have a chaplain who has been ordained by the Satanic Temple working in your child’s school.  

So, what is this third abortion mill called? And, when will it open? The Satanic Temple proudly mocks President Trump, stating, “The President’s Yuge Most Beautiful Tremendous Satanic Abortion Clinic will officially launch on Donald Trump’s birthday—June 14th—providing telehealth abortion care throughout the state.” As if the “No Kings” protests slated for June 14^th are insufficient to celebrate Flag Day and President Trump’s birthday! As Churchill so famously said, “You have enemies? Good. That means you’ve stood up for something, sometime in your life.” President Trump seems to be the very personification of that one, but would he appreciate this mockery?

With Planned Parenthood, Blue Mountain Clinic, All Families Healthcare and other abortion clinics, there’s an expectation that abortion is somehow spiritually neutral. Not only do the clinics and abortion lobby defend this point, but the church has wholly responded in agreement with this. This lack of response by the Christian church has opened the door for the Satanic Temple to now have an openly Satanic ritual abortion freely accessible in a country that our forefathers fought and died to make a Christian nation. “The Satanic Temple can connect you with an ordained minister to walk you through the abortion ritual and provide religious support before, during, and after the process,” they boast. 

This begs the question, why are there so few Christian ordained ministers to walk Moms through unplanned pregnancies? I’m thankful for those that actually address the issue with truth and compassion, trusting the Lord to heal those who have been wounded by abortion in the past. We no longer have the luxury of worrying about who we may offend, or if we may lose our tax-exempt status. Which, by the way, has happened exactly once in the entire history of our country, and that was due to the church putting up a huge political ad in a newspaper telling people not to vote for Bill Clinton.

What is the Satanic abortion ritual?  Scripture clearly states it’s sacrificing your child to demons, as I outlined above.  The Satanic Temple says it’s all about you. They call it a “destruction ritual”, and claim, “Your ability to choose to terminate a pregnancy is consistent with the ideals of liberty and freedom. Be proud of pursuing what you want for your life despite opposition.” Self is definitely on the throne for the Satanists, whereby the child dies so the Mother can be worshipped. Christians are to “die to self”, as Paul teaches in Romans 6.  The selfishness of abortion is on full display for the Satanists.  

Clearly, we are in a spiritual battle here. The question remains, will the church stand up and fight for our children, who are the image-bearers of the Lord?  Or, will they remain “asleep in the light”?
