Missoula witnessed a series of early morning incidents starting just after midnight with the Missoula County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) directing traffic enforcement in undisclosed locations. Heart of Missoula was particulary active, with multiple bar and building checks by the Missoula Police Department (MPD), along with reports of disorderly conduct and suspicious activities. Grant Creek and Southgate Triangle also saw traffic-related and burglary incidents.

The Heart of Missoula, known for its bustling nightlife, reported further disturbances and suspicious activities, highlighting a trend towards nightlife related public safety occurrences. Additionally, both instances of needing medical attention (ALS) were reported thrice in the Westside neighborhood, amid other safety checks and conduct disturbances.

The frequency of incidents remained high during the morning hours with multiple welfare checks, accidents involving injuries, and police assistance calls in neighborhoods like Westside, Franklin to the Fort, and River Road. Notably, there were several calls related to accidents with injuries across various locations, indicating potential traffic issues.

Reported property crimes included a stolen vehicle in Franklin to the Fort and multiple instances of burglary alarms in Southgate Triangle. Public disturbances were addressed in Rose Park and Grant Creek among others, while Westside saw an uptick in camping related reports.”

Afternoon Update

Continuing the day, the afternoon was marked by numerous assistance calls across various neighborhoods including Heart of Missoula and Westside. Intimidation incidents were recorded in the Westside with potential public safety concerns. Disturbances and hazardous situations were also managed by MPD and MCSO across different parts of Missoula, inculding loud noise complaints and fire risks.

Evening Outlook

As evening approached, the city did not see a reduction in public safety engagements. Camping in the city incidences were notable in Westside. The MCSO had to handle situations related to intimidation and trespassing in several areas. Disturbances and welfare checks persisted, with an unusual report of wildlands fires, emphasizing ongoing concerns for public safety into the night.
