Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) agents in Kalispell arrested Baldermar Duarte-Nieto, a previously deported criminal alien from Mexico who was wanted on a felony drug warrant in Washington state.
HSI Denver announced the arrest Friday in a post on X. According to the agency, Duarte-Nieto will remain in Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) custody pending both criminal and immigration proceedings. HSI released a photo of the arrest showing Duarte-Nieto detained by officers at the scene.
The arrest highlights ongoing federal efforts to apprehend individuals who have illegally re-entered the United States after deportation and are wanted on outstanding criminal charges.
This marks the second HSI arrest in Montana this week. On June 25, HSI agents in Helena arrested Erick Sanchez-Banegas, a Honduran national, following reports of an attempted kidnapping and a vehicle ramming incident during the arrest attempt.
