HELENA — Attorney General Austin Knudsen announced the reappointment of two members to Montana’s Gaming Advisory Council this week.
Scott Aspenlieder of Billings and Garret McFarland of Miles City will continue serving on the council, which advises on gaming policy matters throughout the state.
Aspenlieder, who was first appointed in 2021, currently chairs the council and serves as the public-at-large representative. He also serves on the Billings City Council and owns Performance Engineering.
McFarland brings two decades of experience to his role, having first been appointed to the council in 2005. He represents local government on the council and serves as secretary of the Miles City Community College Board of Trustees.
“Both Scott and Garret bring valuable experience and perspective to the Gaming Advisory Council,” Knudsen said in announcing the reappointments.
The Gaming Advisory Council was established in 1989 to provide guidance on public policy matters related to gaming, including potential amendments to gambling statutes and departmental rules. The council also advises on the operation of the state’s Gambling Control Division.
The council’s next meeting is scheduled for Sept. 15 at 4:15 p.m. at Fairmont Hot Springs Resort in Fairmont.
