Early Morning Incidents
Missoula Police Department (MPD) and Missoula County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) responded to several incidents beginning in the early hours. Police addressed suspicious activities in the Westside neighborhood alongside a bicycle moving violation in the same area. A reported camping violation took the attention of MPD at Franklin to the Fort, meanwhile, vehicle-related incidents, including those involving bicycles and pedestrians, were noted in multiple locations, such as Captain John Mullan and South 39th Street. Several cases of driving under the influence were recorded at Grant Creek. Other significant actions included reports of shots heard, theft, and intimidation, predominantly managed by MPD aiding in maintaining public safety.
Morning Activities
Continued police activity was noted in neighborhoods like Heart of Missoula with intimidation reports, and Westside with further suspicious activities. Several incidents required medical response with Basic Life Support calls coming primarily from the Two Rivers and University Districts. The morning also noted multiple traffic complaints across various neighborhoods aiming at addressing parking violations and unattended vehicles. Noteworthy was an increase in demands for officer’s advice and civil-related incidents, signaling a busy start to the day for local law enforcement.
Afternoon to Evening Range
The trend of suspicious activities did not decline, particularly in areas like Westside and Riverfront. Westside also experienced a notable number of disorderly conduct cases and a recovered stolen vehicle incident. The police were actively involved in several traffic accidents that resulted in injuries, especially highlighted in neighborhoods such as Farviews / Pattee Canyon and Rose Park. In the later part of the evening, the area saw a mixture of welfare checks, disturbances, and continued reports of hazardous situations.
Late Evening Overview
As night fell, incidents such as loud noise complaints and disturbances surfaced with particular concentration around Two Rivers and Heart of Missoula. The police also served several court papers and continued to manage several welfare checks across the community. An uptick in traffic-related accidents and injuries was also observed.
