Early Morning Incidents
The Missoula Police Department and Missoula County Sheriff’s Office had a busy early morning responding to a variety of incidents. Notable among them were multiple reports of driving under the influence (DUI) in areas like Captain John Mullan and River Road, where MPD handled similar incidents occurring minutes apart. This trend was accompanied by disturbances in neighborhoods such as Westside and Grant Creek, indicating a restless start to the day.
Morning Activities
As the morning progressed, MPD and MCSO continued to respond to a flurry of calls, with Heart of Missoula experiencing a mixture of welfare checks, burglary alarms, and a notable number of fire assist calls. Incidents requiring person removal were recorded across various neighborhoods, highlighting ongoing community safety concerns. Additionally, multiple instances of suspicious activity were addressed by law enforcement in River Road and Westside, alongside routine checks such as accident reports with no injuries spread across the University District and Captain John Mullan.
Afternoon to Evening Shift
Into the afternoon, the focus shifted towards handling disturbances and responding to accidents. Westside saw another group of disturbances, coupled with hazard reports and accident responses. As evening approached, incidents such as shoplifting in Southgate Triangle and drug-related cases in the same area showed a pivot to crimes associated with retail and substance abuse. Disorderly conduct was a common theme throughout neighborhoods like Heart of Missoula and Northside into the late evening, where police also handled numerous instances of crime prevention checks and welfare assessments.
