Montana’s Delegation Should Back Climate Programs in FY26 Budget

Congress is back in session. It’s a great time for Senators Daines and Sheehy and Representatives Zinke and Downing to put bipartisan solutions that advance clean energy and cut climate pollution at the top of the agenda.

We’re experiencing worsening droughts and warming rivers. It’s sickening to see cattle drinking water in small dirty water holes, dried-up streambeds with dead fish, and our kids breathing wildfire smoke.

To help remedy this, Congress could: (1) expand clean energy to strengthen U.S. leadership and competitiveness; (2) cut climate pollution driving extreme-weather impacts; (3) protect public health, especially children and vulnerable populations from air pollution; and (4) lower household energy costs while building a stronger, more reliable grid.

As former Congressmen Bob Inglis (R-SC) and Carlos Curbelo (R-FL) wrote on Fox News: “This is not about choosing between the environment and the economy. It is about unleashing American ingenuity to confront financial risks, create opportunities, and strengthen resilience.”

Please ask Congress to fund key climate programs in the FY26 budget. Thank you.
