Early Morning Incidents
The Missoula Police Department (MPD) and Missoula County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) reported a busy start to the day, with multiple disturbances originating on the Westside and extending through areas without specific neighborhood attributions. Specific incidents such as disturbances, drug-related issues, and burglary alarms were noted especially between midnight and 4 AM.
Shift to Daytime Activities
As the morning progressed, numerous ‘Person Needs Assistance’ calls were attended by both MPD and MCSO across the Westside, with a consistent number of medical emergencies and assistance calls peppering areas like the Heart of Missoula and Franklin to the Fort. Accident reports were also a frequent occurrence throughout the city, particularly noted were incidents without injuries.
Afternoon to Evening Concerns
During the afternoon and early evening, there was a mix of criminal and non-criminal activities spanning from abandonment of vehicles, to fraud, disturbances, and a few hazardous situations requiring immediate law enforcement attention. Notably, a series of wildland fires initiated emergency responses mainly in rural and less populated neighborhoods toward late evening.
Notable Neighborhood Statistics
In a detailed look at neighborhood activities, Westside showed consistent issues with a wide variety of incidents ranging from disturbances to theft and several instances requiring police assistance for removing individuals. Conversely, River Road saw cases involving criminal mischief, DUI, and hit and run accidents.
Special note was made of incidents categorized under ‘Suspicious Activity’ and ‘Camping in the City’, showing an uptick in public holiday profiles, suggesting potential seasonal or event-driven increases in these types of reports.
