MISSOULA — A Bitterroot Valley pregnancy resource center will receive 15 percent of sales from Chick-fil-A Missoula on Friday as part of a community fundraiser organized through a volunteer connection.

Bitterroot Mommy & Me will benefit from the restaurant’s Community Care Event on December 5, with proceeds supporting the organization’s free diaper distribution and pregnancy support services. The fundraiser runs all day Friday, requiring customers to place orders through the Chick-fil-A mobile app to ensure the 15 percent donation.

The partnership came together after a volunteer with Bitterroot Mommy & Me who used to work at Chick-fil-A helped the organization set up the giving campaign. Robin Sertell, chair of Montanans for Life which operates Bitterroot Mommy & Me, expressed gratitude for the partnership and hope that the program could continue if successful.

The fundraiser follows a series of diaper giveaway events the organization has hosted across western Montana in recent weeks. On Tuesday, volunteers distributed free diapers, wipes, and diaper cream at a Missoula location across from Blue Mountain Clinic, with more than 30 people attending a similar event in Hamilton weeks earlier.

During Monday’s two-hour giveaway, multiple families arrived seeking supplies, underscoring the ongoing need for diaper assistance in the area. The organization will host one final giveaway event Saturday, December 6, from 2 to 4 p.m. at Florence Fire Hall.

Bitterroot Mommy & Me launched its series of November and December diaper giveaways to help families facing what organizers described as economic pressures from SNAP benefit delays, high inflation, and rising property taxes during the holiday season.

The organization operates from a permanent facility at 1967 N. 1st Street in Hamilton after initially opening in a temporary Corvallis location earlier this year. The center launched in February 2025 to fill a service gap in the Bitterroot Valley after Birthright closed in 2021.

Beyond diaper distribution, the pregnancy resource center provides free baby and maternity items year-round, along with options counseling and healing services for those who have experienced pregnancy loss.

Customers can participate in Friday’s fundraiser by ordering through the Chick-fil-A mobile app for drive-thru, carry-out, dine-in, or curbside pickup. No promotional code is required. Those who prefer to order in-store can still place mobile orders from inside the restaurant to ensure their purchase supports the organization.

Families seeking more information about Bitterroot Mommy & Me’s services can call (406) 530-8383.
