Too many in today’s GOP seem determined to seize control of the party—and the state—by any means necessary. The Freedom Caucus, the John Birch Society acolytes, the newly elected board of the state GOP (with the exception of Zinn,) aren’t “saving” Montana; they’re undermining it. Voters – especially Republicans need to show up, speak up, and remind their central committees and legislators that laws and bylaws actually mean something.
The same power-grab is unfolding right here in Ravalli County. It’s a calculated effort by authoritarian-leaning right-wingers to consolidate power inside the GOP and over the voters and Republicans in the state who built the Republican Brand that is now sullied, stained, and denigrated by the election of Wittich as chair.
Wittich being fined $68.000.00 by the MT Supreme Court for election law violations, says everything about how far the once-Grand Old Party has fallen—and how much damage has been done by the legislators we keep sending to Helena. Montana Republicans deserve better. Quiz your legislators and precinct committee men and women about their vote on Wittich. Did they know they were casting a vote for a man who had broken the laws of the state of Montana? Will they demand a NEW election for GOP head? If not, throw them out in 2026. “They do NOT deserve the honor or opportunity to be the voice of the people in Helena any more than a fox deserves the keys to the henhouse.”

Art Wittich was fined $68k by Bullock, Motl and their Supreme Court cronies. Over the price of postcards. He literally reported the price of postcards as they were given to him by a vendor and Motl determined because other candidates had paid more for postcards he was “deceiving” the COPP. He was the only one who wouldn’t settle with Motl over the WTP fiasco, and for that he was disbarred, fined and never allowed to run for office again.
If Montana Democrat’s corruption, lies and witch hunting is what this woman is defending, I think maybe she’s the one we should be questioning as a true Republican.
She’s also part of the old guard Ravalli Cent Comm that doesn’t lift a finger to help local Republicans and even uses Cent Comm money for their own precinct campaigns when they shouldn’t be spending Republican money against Republicans. They won’t do anything to help win elections or get voters out and actively work to push people out from participating, but they will spend money they’re supposed to safeguard and help Republicans with to bash them instead and help their own campaigns.
The party needs to get these people out since they just stonewall any improvements and put such a bad taste in peoples’ mouths with their crappy treatment of anyone who disagrees they harm the party way more than they help it, just for their own power and egos. If these are the people in positions to try and help elect Republicans, you can see why it’s such an uphill climb.
