Missoula Crime Report – December 9, 2025

Early Morning Incidents

Missoula Police Department (MPD) was active in the Westside neighborhood responding to a welfare check and a loud noise complaint, along with a harassment report, all before sunrise. There was also a notable presence in Heart of Missoula, addressing issues such as camping within city limits.
MPD also handled incidents including suspicious activities in Captain John Mullan and a disruption on Riverfront.

Morning Agitations

As morning approached, the frequency of calls increased with burglary alarms sounding multiple times in Miller Creek, alongside repeated assistance calls in River Road. A hit and run was reported in an unspecified location by the Missoula County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO). MPD and MCSO were tasked with several ‘Person Needs Assistance’ calls throughout various neighborhoods.

Disorders were also noted particularly in the Riverfront area, following up with some urgent medical BLS calls and a set of hazard notifications.

Afternoon Alarms

By afternoon, the rate of incidents peaked with multiple assault and accident reports particularly from the Westside. Heart of Missoula and River Road also saw ‘Person Needs Assistance’ calls.

MPD responded to a series of welfare checks and a civil dispute in the University District. Nearing the end of the afternoon, there was also significant activity with regards to assault and accidents with no injuries in multiple neighborhoods.

Evening and Late Evening Escalations

The evening continued the trend with disturbances like shoplifting in Captain John Mullan and several thefts across different areas. MCSO handled a critical situation with multiple units responding to a structure fire in undesignated locations. The evening also saw several welfare checks and hazards, especially in the Heart of Missoula and Westside, concluding with several disturbances and suspicious activities in Southgate Triangle as the night progressed.
