HELENA, MT – In a significant milestone for Montana’s law enforcement training efforts, 75 new officers graduated today from the Montana Law Enforcement Academy (MLEA), marking the largest class in its history. The graduation ceremony, featuring law enforcement personnel from 40 state agencies, took place at the MLEA in Helena.

Montana Attorney General Austin Knudsen attended the ceremony, delivering a congratulatory address to the graduates. His presence underscored the state’s commitment to enhancing law enforcement capabilities through rigorous training and professional development.

The newly graduated officers are set to enhance the law enforcement landscape across Montana, serving in various state, county, city, and tribal jurisdictions. The MLEA, a cornerstone of law enforcement training in Montana, provides both basic and advanced instruction tailored to the needs of modern policing.

“I’m confident Montana’s newest law enforcement officers will serve their communities with honor and put their training to good use as they work to keep us safe,” stated Attorney General Knudsen. “These officers are joining the ranks of some of the best and bravest law enforcement officers in the country. I have no doubt that their time at the Montana Law Enforcement Academy has prepared them for the challenges ahead.”

The DOJ made a full list of this session’s graduates, along with a recorded broadcast of the ceremony, available for public access.

The graduation not only celebrates the achievements of the new officers but also represents a significant expansion in the state’s capacity to manage public safety and community policing efforts. The increased strength and capability of Montana’s law enforcement are essential as they face an evolving array of challenges in their duty to protect and serve.
