Significant uptick in disturbances and DUI incidents
Early Morning Incidents
The day started with multiple incidents of Driving Under the Influence (DUI) reported by both the Missoula Police Department (MPD) and Missoula County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) on South 39th Street and various locations without specific neighborhood data. These incidents occurred shortly after midnight, along with disturbances in Riverfront and the Westside, and a notable case of “Shots Heard” on Northside.
Other notable early morning events included ‘Camping in the City’ activities and several cases of ‘Suspicious Activity’, particularly in the Franklin to the Fort neighborhood.
Morning Developments
The morning hours saw a continuation of the disturbance trend with multiple reports across Heart of Missoula, Westside, and Riverfront. Numerous ‘Person Needs Assistance’ calls were logged predominantly in Westside.
Hazard situations were handled by MCSO, including two incidents of ‘Accident – Hit and Run’ and other traffic-related violations. The Riverfront areas reported a prowler, followed by a continuation of suspicious activities.
Afternoon Events
As the day progressed into the afternoon, a noticeable number of ‘Medical Standby BLS’ services were required, especially in the Franklin to the Fort area. Community assistance and disturbances were frequent in Westside and university districts, with several calls regarding accidents with no injuries.
MPD addressed multiple disorderly conducts and disturbances within the Heart of Missoula, accompanied by additional calls for welfare checks across various neighborhoods.
Evening Overview
The evening reported heightened activities in the areas of Wildlands Fire occurrences with MPSO addressing fires in Grant Creek and Heart of Missoula. The latter also saw a significant rise in disturbances, with reports of “Shots Heard” and “Structure Fire”.
Other significant reports included ‘Suspicious Activity’ in Rose Park and various emergency medical transfers by the MCSO in non-specified locations. The Southgate Triangle neighborhood experienced shoplifting and multiple ‘Person to be Removed’ situations.
Late Evening Summary
The late evening was marked by several reports of disorderly conduct, particularly noticeable in Franklin to the Fort and along Riverfront. ‘Bar/Building Check’ operations were frequent in Heart of Missoula, along with multiple instances of loud noise complaints.
Overall, May 30th displayed a substantial amount of service calls for disturbances, DUIs, and emergency medical situations throughout Missoula.
